Lit Circle 5
In todays literature circle, my main strength was bringing up a good discussion through the questions asked in this weeks reading. But unfortunatly, my weakness was not being able to bring the discussion back to life, when it started to slow down, and that was when we started to get a little off topic, but we were then able to quickly get back on topic. One way that my thinking was deepend was when the discussion came about whether Chris's dad really is a bad dad. This came up when we talked about him lying to Chris about his mother's death, and about him killing Wellington. I was proven wrong about this when we disscussed how hard Chris father must try to keep care of him. The passage that I chose to take a closer look at was the one where Chris thinks he needs to leave his father, because he thinks his father will try to kill him. I chose this passage because it shows how Chris is starting to loss the trust he had for his father.

Scribe day Four
The main focus in today's discussion was why Chris's dad never showed Chris the letters that she wrote to him after they got divorced. One veiwpiont was that it was hidden from Chris is because he wanted Chris under the mind set that she was dead. Because there were no opposing veiwpionts on this dicussion, we used this to conclude the discussion. That is how our group spent the class time talking about The Incident of the Dog in the Night Time.

Today in the Literature discussion, my main strength was bringing up the question, why didn't Chris know about his mothers affair with Mr. Shears. But unfortunately, my weakness was being unable to answer some of my peer's questions. The passage that I suggested we took a closer look at was when Chris determined how his day was going to go by what color cars passed by. I choose this passage, because in goes deeper into Chris's autism, and how it may effect when he tries to find clues against his father's wishes. But overall, I believe that our group made the most of our class time discussing mainly on why Chris has a lack of emotion.

Lit Circle 2
AS a discussion member, some of my strengths were offering good in site to why Chris's father always seems so cross. Unfortunately, some of my weaknesses were being unable to keep the discussion going, because at curtain points we started to run out of subjects to talk about. I was informed in the discussion on how the possibility that Chris's mother could still be alive, due to the fact how Chris's father hates Mr. Shears, and how he wouldn't let Chris see his mother in the hospital. One question that I asked was why was Chris so interested in finding out who killed Wellington, because most people would have found the dog, and not cared after words. The passage that i took a closer look at was when Mrs. Alexander invited Chris in for tea, but he didn't go into the house because he is afraid of strangers. The reason why I chose the passage was because Chris's fear of strangers could affect him being able to solve Wellingtons murder incident.

Scribe day one
On the first day of disscusion, my group mostly talked about the mental make up of Chris. We disscused topics such as why chris detests the color yellow and how he does not like strangers. One veiw point that we got into was when Ashley asked the question,"Is Chris ok when animals touch him, because he doesn't like it when people touch him?" Liana and I both agreed that Chris is ok when he is touched by animals, considering the fact that he picks up the dead dog. After this discussion, Ashley came to the conclusion that Chris is ok when an animal touches him. But she thought of this, because Chris has a pet rat that he enjoys playing with.
